Impress Matra Consortium has won the worldwide broadcast rights of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket for 2017-19 seasons, reports UNB.
Four companies — Gazi Satellite Television Ltd, Ardent and Mediacom Consortium, Impress Matra Consortium and Top of Mind — vied for obtaining the worldwide broadcast rights for BPL T20 blast.
However, Impress Matra Consortium won the rights as the highest bidder following the evaluation of BPL Governing Council.
Now, Impress Matra Consortium is eligible to sell the BPL rights to any other companies for the seasons in additional to telecasting the BPL T20 matches.
The 4th BPL T20 Cricket will kick off in Dhaka on November 04 next with the participation of seven franchise teams — defending champions Comilla Victorians, runners-up Barisal Bulls, Dhaka Dynamites, Rangpur Riders, Chittagong Vikings, Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings. Dhaka and Chittagong will host the BPL matches.
The final match of the fourth BPL will be held on December 09 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) awarded its title sponsorship and in-stadia sponsorship rights to Impress Matra Consortium for the two years beginning on September 01 last.
