Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), one of the leading conglomerates of Bangladesh, will sponsor the jersey of Bangladesh Under-19 team in the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup due to start January 27 in Chittagong.
The Bangladesh team jersey was officially unveiled at a press conference on the Chittagong Club’s premises yesterday. The team’s new jerseys, sporting the logo of Fresh, the flagship brand of MGI.
The Chittagong City Mayor and BCB director AJM Nasir Uddin along with BCB tournament committee chairman Akram Khan, Bangladesh Under-19 team captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz were present during the ceremony. Apart from them Taif Bin Yousuf, executive director, Meghna Group of Industries; Asif Iqbal, executive director (Marketing) of MGI, Ziauddin Adil, Bangladesh national cricket team’s sponsorship right holder and managing director, Top of Mind were also present. MGI Director Tahmina Mostafa handed over the Fresh -branded jerseys to the Bangladesh U-19 World Cup team captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Speaking on the occasion Akram Khan said, “It is our duty to advance our game and eventually become one of the strongest teams in the cricket world. We hope to stir a new generation of players to become the qualified cricketers of the future, and thanks to Fresh to be the partner of this footing.”
Tahmina Mostafa said, “This occasion is a historic day for us, a day to celebrate our partnership with Bangladesh U-19 Team, who are going to be superb ambassadors for our brand and a fitting emblem of our message ‘There is no limit – only obstacles to be overcome’. We wish Bangladesh U-19 team continued success, and we wish the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) another exciting season of cricket.”
